Christmas Cantata & Christmas Variety Show

Parents,

The Christmas Cantata and Christmas Variety Show are Sunday, December 18.  Don’t forget that we will have a dress rehearsal this Thursday, December 15 from 7:00-7:30 in the Sanctuary.  The children will then sing Sunday morning December 18th at both services and at the Christmas Variety Show that evening at 6:30PM.

Children should arrive at church Sunday morning by 8:30 AM and plan to stay with their parents until they sing.  The kids will line up in the Narthex prior to the processing forward for the “Candlelight Processional”.  Once the children are finished singing they will return to enjoy the rest of the program with their families.  Children will also sing during the 11:00 service and will line up in the Narthex prior to the processing forward for the “Candlelight Processional”.  Once the children are done singing at the 11:oo service they are free to leave or may stay for the remaining Cantata.

There will be No KIDS Worship so families can enjoy the Christmas Cantata together.

Children should plan to arrive for the Christmas Variety Show on December 18 by 6:00 PM and meet in Room 1, as they are first up at 6:30 PM.  We invite you to stay for the Christmas Variety Show and enjoy cookies and punch after the show!

VBS 2011 Mission Possible: The Fall of Jericho

Every summer a tent pops up on our lawn, children run through our church wearing the same T-shirts and carrying the newest treasure created during craft time.  When this happens, we know it’s that time of year again – time for Vacation Bible School.  This week during Mission Possible:  The Fall of Jericho, kids learned about Joshua and how he had to be strong and courageous during difficult times.  It was a week full of kids singing songs, playing games, and creating crafts, but more importantly it’s about them learning how we serve an awesome God that loves us more than we can comprehend.  On the surface level it may look like mass chaos with children running around blowing horns trying to get the wall of Jericho to fall down;  but if you look closely, you will learn that there is something bigger going on.   Relationships are being formed and hearts being touched.  This week was about kids walking away from a week of VBS with a new understanding of one more piece of the puzzle to God’s big story.

Finally, what would VBS be without all the amazing volunteers?  I want to say thank you to all the volunteers that helped make VBS a huge success.  Thank you for giving your time, talents and energy to make this VBS special!
